Ah, babe’s very first Halloween! I don’t know about other moms, but the pressure was real for me to figure out the perfect costume for Aveline. Tim and I had a few different ideas, many of which didn’t include us (Halloween 2020 is a bit unusual in these Covid times), but after chatting it through, we knew we wanted to make it a family affair.
To give you the full backstory here, Tim’s nickname, bestowed on him by his father, is Tigger! We jokingly came up with the Winnie the Pooh idea at first, but after researching and finding that Eeyore costume for Summit, we knew it would be perfect if we could pull it off.
I found my ‘costume’ which are actually pj’s on Kohl’s.com (these look to be sold out now so linking a similar option here) and Aveline’s which is a Classic Pooh look, from Pottery Barn Kids. It seems the traditional hot pink belly Piglet we all know and love is impossible to find these days! The only place I found Tim’s at a reasonable price was on Amazon, and I was admittedly a little nervous to order from them. Mainly because of reviews like this. I finally caved and figured if it was horrible it’d be a funny story, but it ended up being perfect! Summit’s was actually the hardest one to find, given his size was sold out at a lot of places, but I ended up ordering from HalloweenCostumes.com and it all came together in the end!
I’d say Aveline’s First Halloween was a success and I can’t wait to look back on these photos someday and remember this very special time in our lives.
